Leah McFadden was born on June 4th, 2005 in Malvern, PA. When she reached the age of 3, her family moved to Sarasota, FL, where she grew up with her older sister, Tierney. While living in Sarasota, not only was she surrounded by her cousins and best friends, but also was able to frequent the beautiful Siesta Key Beach. In elementary school, her hobbies included swimming in the ocean and playing kickball with her dad on the golf course they lived behind. As she grew older, Leah found an interest in cheerleading. While she participated in competitive cheer during middle school, she made the switch to sideline in high school, giving her the chance to cheer during Friday night football games. Riverview High School was where Leah made the best of friends and grew into herself, exploring fashion and video creation. This ultimately led to her decision of going to University of Central Florida to pursue her dreams.
Majoring in Media Production and Management, Leah has been able to learn more about her passion and explore the operational side of creating content. In addition to her chosen major, she also minors in digital media. Through her studies, Leah continues to gain knowledge on the history and technological advances of media and how it has grown to what it is today. During her freshman year of college, she lived in an on-campus dorm, but for the past 2 years, Leah has resided in an off-campus apartment with three other roommates. Leah and her roommates are very close with one another as they're all members of a Greek Life organization. In Pi Beta Phi, Leah has taken on various roles, one of which being Director of Leadership. She thrives when she keeps busy and has a packed schedule, always trying to be as involved in her sorority as possible.
Unsure of where her education and experience may take her, Leah keeps an open mind and broad outlook on her future. She dreams of moving out of Florida to a big city, whether it be the east or west coast, and make a true impact in the film and production world. Currently, she interns as a social media video editor and would love to see where that exposure can take her. Leah also has an interest in news production and wants to learn more about the specific operations and positions that go into creating a successful news show. As for her personal life goals, she plans on settling down and starting a family later in life. Leah has always loved kids and used to be around children constantly when her mom was a teacher. She will carry this joy and excitement in her future, and continue to grow and mature through life.
